Spiderman nails!

Happy New Year everyone!

A few weeks ago I decided to do what was possibly the hardest nail design I've ever done after watching several hours of my favourite superhero slinging webs and fighting bad guys. I was incredibly proud of the results after I spent hours doing it.

The only thing I didn't like about these nails were the eyes, I struggled with getting them right, but I still think they look pretty good. Though, I will let you be the true judge! For these nails I used OPI Base Coat, 17 Risky Red, Nails Supreme black and white nails pens and Seche Vite top coat.

Hope everyone has a wonderful New Years Eve and an amazing 2012! My new years resolution for next year is to do more nail art :) though I shant be able to buy any nail varnish for a few months, as I'm on a "no-buy" to save money for going to New York in February! (In which I will probably buy some American nail varnish that I can't get here! Excited!)

Haul! (Picture Heavy)

Hey everyone! It's been a few weeks since I last posted, its been quite a busy few weeks! I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas? I certainly did. :) Anyway, onto the haul!

Firstly here is a collection of nail bits I have acquired in the past few weeks, I thought it would be nice to show everyone!

First up I got this free when I bought three 17 products (I of course bought 3 more nail varnishes!), this is a drugstore brand in the UK and the polishes are only £2.99 each. The nail varnishes are called Nightshade, Risky Red and glitter top coat.

These are the polishes I bought: Midnight Sapphire, True Blue (which is kind of a TARDIS blue!), and Exquisite which is unfortunately quite sheer.

These two my best friend gave to me as a present; Revlon Tropical Temptation and Gold Coin.

These were Christmas presents from my family; Nails Inc Connaught Street (SO pretty!!) and No. 7 Blackberry.

I bought these in the hope I might strengthen my very damaged nails, they're currently peeling and what not. They look horrible!

Finally my friend gave me these two as they didn't suit her; Missguided - Misstique and 17 Wicked.
I also got a pretty nail file, cuticle cream and nail polish remover wipes. I really like looking at what other peoples hauls, so I'd love to see some of yours!

Santa Nails!

IT'S CHRISTMASSSSS!
Well, not quite but I'm a big kid and I love Christmas so I couldn't resist doing Santa nails. :)
They're really simple and only done on a few nails, the rest is red glitter.
This was really simple to do, it's a one coat of Nails Supreme red, then on the thumb and ring finger its one coat of OPI's Getting Miss Piggy With It which was an early Christmas present from my Auntie. I'm in love with it, its so pretty! Then for the Santa coats I did stripes of Nails Supreme white, black and the belt buckle was done with the glittery gold. I really like them, they're simple and not perfect, but I still really like them!
Here are my Nail Supreme nail pens/polishes, they are pretty much the majority of my collection of nail varnishes. But it is slowly growing :) please do excuse the doodle that's been smudged out, haha! I get bored sometimes.

Again any constructive critiscm would be lovely, I appreciate any comments! Thank you :)

First Post! Animal Nails

Hello, welcome to my new blog!
So my first post is animal nails, which feature a panda, a frog, a random bird (which kind of accidentally resembles an Angry Bird), a penguin and a flamingo. This is the most complicated nail art I've done, and I've only been doing it for about a month. The majority being simple spots and french tip lightning bolts (which were pretty cool!), anyway I was super proud of this even though it wasn't perfect.
On all my nails I used no 7 - Nougat as a base colour.

So here is the flamingo, he was my favourite and I was really proud of him. I used Nail Supreme nail pens for this as well as no 17's Fairy Cake (which was the pale pink). I started off with the bright pink nail pen and painted the basic shape of the flamingo, then once that had dried I took the pale pink and added his beak. Then using the black I added the black bottom of his beak and the eye, for that I used the black nail pen from Nail Supreme.

For the bird I used only the Nail Supreme nail pens, first I painted an oval at the end of my nail. Once dry I added a smaller oval over the top of the bird for its stomach, and took the blue pen to create its hair with three small lines. Then using the white nail pen I dotted the eyes, waited for it to dry and dotted small black spots for the eyes. Then added a small yellow beak with the yellow nail pen.

The frog was painted with Collection 2000 - Mint Mojo, no 17 - Fairy Cake, and the white and black nail pens. I first did the same technique as the bird, and painted a green oval and then two dots on the top of his head. Once this had dried I painted white spots on the two green dots, waited for that to dry and added the black pupils. Then I drew a smile with the black pen, then two small pink dots for rosy cheeks.

For the penguin I did a large oval, over the majority of my nail with the black nail pen brush. Once dried I painted a white oval for its belly, a yellow triangle for its beak and two small yellow ovals for its feet. Then I repeated the steps previously for his eyes.

The panda was by far the easiest, though in hindsight they were all fairly easy. I painted a white stripe, much like a larger french tip, dotted two black dots for its ears, two black spots for its eyes, then white over that, then two more black spots for the pupils, and a black spot for its nose.

I was extremely proud of these nails, and though at first I thought they would be difficult they were actually fairly easy! So anybody could give it a go, and do different animals :)
Please let me know what you think as this is my first post, would love to hear some constructive criticism! What I've done wrong, what you think I could do better, etc :)
